Grade-Wise Age Eligibility Breakdown
Based on current trends and board regulations, here is the
expected age breakdown for the 2026-27 session. Please note that most schools
use March 31, 2026, as the reference date for age calculation.
1. Pre-Primary Years (The
Foundation)
The foundational stage is critical for developing motor skills and
social cues.

Nursery: The child should be 3 years+. Ideally born between
April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023.

LKG (Lower Kindergarten): The child should be 4 years+.
·
UKG (Upper Kindergarten): The child should be 5 years+.
2. Primary School (Grades 1 to
5)
As per the new mandates, the progression follows a strict
6-year-old start for Grade 1.

Grade 1: 6 years+
·
Grade 2: 7 years+
·
Grade 3: 8 years+
·
Grade 4: 9 years+
·
Grade 5: 10 years+
3. Middle and Secondary School
(Grades 6 to 10)
For higher grades, while age is a factor, the Transfer
Certificate (TC) and previous year's marksheet from a recognized board
are usually the primary documents.

Grade 6: 11 years+
·
Grade 8: 13 years+
·
Grade 10: 15 years+ (Students must be at least 14 years old to sit for
the Board Examinations in most states).
ADMISSION TEST
The
admission test will assess the student’s proficiency in English and
Mathematics, based on the syllabus of the preceding class for which admission
is sought.
REQUIRED ENCLOSURES
The
following documents must be submitted along with the duly filled Registration
Form:
1.
Birth Certificate (mandatory for Kindergarten and Preparatory classes)
2.
Transfer Certificate (TC) from the previously attended school
3.
Photocopy of the previous class’s Academic Performance/Report Card
4.
Two recent passport-size coloured photographs
5.
Aadhaar Card copies of the student and parents/guardians
